getting closer

As I blissfully awake to the first songs of spring birds, fervent and hopeful, I recall the fresh lines of Dante: "Your apprehension draws an image from / a real object and expands upon / that object until soul has turned toward it; / and if, so turned, the soul tends steadfastly, / then that propensity is love--it's nature / that joins the soul in you, anew, through beauty." --- Purgatorio XVIII 22-27

Ahhh, spring draws near.

Pudding of thoughts indeed

How to get it all out is the elusive task set before me; to arrange these thoughts and emotions into a legible and sequential order would be such a feat - yet every time I try, the result is cryptic and choppy. On one hand why should an invitation into this brain even exist? Other than this being a virtual "screaming pillow" (personally I find my tangible notebook more satisfying...not to mention more romantic) it is only an experiment. Deconstructing these pudding thoughts of elated hopes, whimsies, fancy free and joy, inevitable frustrations and anger, tenacious dreams and expectations, fears, bunny trails and ideas for tribute menus.
Yes, sing on, Panda Bear, and so it shall commence this night- March 3rd (technically) - with ramen noodles (throw out the MSG packet and add your own turkey or veggie broth, herbs, and always a squeeze of lemon) and this glass of chocolate soy milk.
Something I noticed today: How amusing it is to watch feet fly up the platform steps from my subway's window - some step with purpose, and others ascend with such fluidity, as if their weight is offset by strings hitched to their backs Peter Pan style. You separate those who slept 3 hours from the every-other-step high-on-life fellows; the timid from the assertive; the executives from the directors from the assistants from the interns...I couldn't help but smile.
Next time I'll try to remember my camera...
